Shown in the center are Chalchiuhtlique godess of fertility and water, on the left. On the right is Tlazolteotl shown with a black mouth called the Godess of filth she symbolized our connection to death, the earth and its transformative powers. This piece shows that even our ancestors understood both birth and death are a part of nature and a part of ourselves. There is space in indigenous thought for both why can't we have this now... in America 2022??? Abortion rights are human rights. Treat us like we're human!
